The Candy Bar: A Feast in Milk and Chocolate
When thousands of years ago Aztecs discovered the chocolate drink, they could not imagine that one day the whole world would get terribly addicted to it. The heavenly taste of chocolate came to be known to the other parts of the world, when Christopher Columbus imported it to Europe. From Europe the aroma of chocolate spread across the continents. As a result of the local influence of the places it traveled, it acquired sets of new features to receive a new personality altogether, thus emerged various forms of chocolates. Truffles, choco-fudge, praline, ganaches…all are different names of our good old chocolate. But no other form of chocolate had such an endearing impact on men’s cravings as the candy bar.
The origin of the present day milk chocolate can be traced back in candy bars. It was 1875 Switzerland and a joint endeavor of two friends, Henry Nestlé and Daniel Peter gave birth to an extremely delicious confection. This prompted the arrival of new ideas in the art of chocolate making and the chocolate industry grew. Soon millions lost their heart to its smooth, creamy texture and the adoration does not seem to diminish even in the turn of new millennium. Today there are number of milk chocolate producing brands with huge market all over the globe. Here comes a brief outline of some of the leading brands of candy bars.
