The Nestle History is as Rich as Nestle Chocolate

It all started in Europe in the late 1800's, where Henri Nestle developed a formula for babies that could not tolerate their mother’s milk. People quickly recognized the value of the new baby formula after it saved the life of a premature baby whose system could not tolerate anything but Henri’s new formula.

During WWI, Nestle made large amounts of money on condensed milk products from government contracts. After the war, the company had to look elsewhere, and they looked into chocolate.

A few years later, another war came to their aid and Nestle came to the aid of the war - so to speak - when their Nescafe became a staple drink of the American soldier during WWII.

After WWII, the company began to buy up smaller companies to become the mammoth company it is today. This trend continues today, as the company is now involved in vegetables, frozen foods, pet food, ice cream, and many others, but the company is best known in America for it’s chocolate and candy.
